Splam is the money for a sinlge job? Could he be waiting to be paid by the homeowner? I know a lot of contractors don't pay their sub-contractors until they receive payment from the homeowner. If not, Jiggy and Casper's idea's are the smartest and probably most effective

I was working as a contractor. By law I should've been an employee. He was exploiting a loophole to stiff me off my employee rights which is the contract ended. It is for two jobs. He is not waiting to be paid by homeowner - because homeowner is aware that we haven't been paid and is holding off until we are.
And yes if contacting clients and other subtrades does not work, I will be filing a small claims court notice. The small claims court notice will possibly allege I was an employee, and I'll be demanding OT pay, stat holidays, pension and tax paid on all my invoices to him over the past 8 months.
What he's claiming now is that driving isn't included in a company car and he wants to backcharge all my invoices for it. AFAIK, the moment I got to the office, and got into the company vehicle, is the moment I begun work. He can claim otherwise in court.
