It would probably cost close to $2,000 a month to rent my home. That saves me over $20,000 a year. I never mentioned my well over 800 credit score, did I?
Just checked Zillow and the houses on either side of me are valued at $377,000 and $517,000. Mine is valued at $392,000 with an estimated rental price of over $2450/month or $29,400 I don't have to pay in rent per year to live here.

A lonely old man like you doesn't even need a house of that value/size. Sell it and buy a single wide in a trailer park...you'll be king of the park with your cash reserves then.
People scoff at them but I'm thinking I might buy a "manufactured home" when I get me a nice big lump of land 10 or 20 acres or so, 100k can buy that here. ...stick a 60k double wide on it...done deal at a cheap price and the thing will last 30yrs, so long after I'm dead.
The problem with your plan is that a double wide will probably be a depreciating asset while a home is almost always an appreciating asset. You being childless (unless Don't Tell Em How Fat I Am can still have kids) means you don't have anyone to inherit your vast empire while I would prefer to have something to leave to my kids.

Well the land would be the investment...That six acres I bought has tripled in value since I got it.
If I had kids they' have to make their own fucking way in the world...just like I did. No hand outs when I'm alive or dead.
I've told my dad to leave his money to the fucking dogs home, I don't want it. (so that's $10 they'll be getting).
My title is department manager but the technicians pretty much manage themselves so I collect a paycheck until it finally dawns on someone that I am not needed. Been doing it for about 6 months now
