It's $100 and I have to go to a notary. I hate paperwork and stuff. Alberta is the only province where you can't just order a new copy birth certificate online it's quite homosexual.

Did you mention that to your case workers? It is literally their job to sort all this sort of thing out for you.

If you are getting $400 a month to live on/$100 a week, that should all be your money. That's just common sense.

Would anyone else not spend $100 a week on themselves just to stay sane? You deserve money to remain connected with society, to leave your home, to remain socially engaged and to feel like a person whose basic human dignity is upheld and guaranteed by the state.

You should not have to pay a weeks income just for nothing.

Go to this place. They have emergency services available. Tell them you need it ASAP because they are demanding it at OntarioWorks. They will have to issue you one within 5 business days. Contact your worker and tell him/her ServiceOntario is asking for proof of need and get a letter, and ask him/her to pay the $65 fee for print and courier. Tell OntarioWorks you need it right away to find work and can't wait 6-8 weeks. You have to use the available support systems, bud. That's what they are there for.

Scron, remember, there is absolutely nothing wrong with saying you don't have the money for xyz. I have been in that situation myself many times. Be straight up, and say "I have no shekels to do what you want me to do, in order for you to help me you will have to pay".

You should see if you could go to medical school abroad, like in Russia or Kenya, that seems like a nice little earner.

Norway is free for students of any nationality, a couple Asian countries are too I think, and many asian or 2nd world countries offer tuition at a fraction of the price of American college (like taiwan or China maybe, Bloc countries)

I would genuinely like to study in the Middle East or maybe SE Asia but Middle East is generally expensive and my parents would probably cut me off

you could come live in my house but a couple just moved in and they're normie straight edge and it makes me (and probably them) very uncomfortable being a mentally ill scrawnyfat guy who's too preoccupied with the past and existential issues &/or drugs to watch FRIENDS reruns or make small talk about what 28 year old straight edge normies from California talk about. I still have chronic pain (albeit quite a bit better) issues which can make me seem curt or pissed off during a flare up and am unsuccessfully trying to cope with my new visual problems ever since the lightbulb incident and it's fucking up and dominating my life.

Your case worker will give you free bus tickets or subway passes to get around as well. No problem. You just have to call in and ask for them and then pick them up at the desk.

  9. They gave me a new worker a few weeks ago she didn't even ask about the healthcard so as long as I get paid I can do that in February.

The most urgent thing is getting signed up with an employment councilor. It said I have 5 days and the deadline was Friday but hopefully on Monday I can get it done, send my worker an email and go from there.

Yeah I got all that. I use their services for what I need. I have got money from them before for work clothes and they got me a presto card with a bunch of money on it.

Yeah, don't worry about it, bud. You're stressing yourself out for absolutely no reason. You're just another number to these case workers. You have to let them know EXACTLY what they can do for you so they can do it for you and get you out of the slump. And you know what? They HAVE to do it. They don't have a choice. That's their job. You are the taxpayer. They are the public servant. You don't owe them anything. In fact, they owe you.

Ok, now you know what to do, just do it. Don't waste time and procrastinate. There's no good reason to procrastinate.

Hey. WTFF?? I just found out they CAN'T disconnect your electricity, they are banned from doing so by law.

"Licensed electricity utilities are banned from disconnecting residential customers for non-payment during the winter every year, from November 15 to April 30. Homes that are already disconnected when the ban goes into effect must be reconnected without charge."

    https://www.oeb.ca/consumer-protection/rules-electricity-utilities

Your electricity supply can’t be disconnected for non-payment during the winter months, from November 15 to April 30.

If you live in a condo or apartment that has its own individual meter and your bill comes from a company other than the local utility, you are a customer of a unit sub-meter provider. Most of our customer service rules for utilities also apply to unit sub-meter providers. Any differences are noted below.

Well they already got my money. Maybe they ran my background and saw I owed like $5000 for stolen power in B.C

Spectral is wrong when he assumes that is some sort of confrontational thing. In reality public servants live in a post-scarcity society, and they view the fact that you are not happy as something that can be rectified. Their resources are infinite, they have no incentive to economise, they have no reason to cut back, and they cannot be fired. It's as close to Star Trek as you will find.

It is a very weird interpretation of the world, and it's not confrontational in the least. They will help you if they can, stop worrying about your $100 a week, no one cares, stop caring. They don't care about efficiency, they don't care about your education, they don't care about your priors, they want to engage with you and say "my programme led 10 people into quality full time employment this year".

Which is great and something you need to relax a little about and fully engage with. It's all way better than you expect. There is no reason to be angry.

The next stage is learning good interview skills. I can help you there if you'd like.

They cut off the power because I was $50 short on the bill. On a Sunday. I got my dad to send $50 and now they want another fee to hook it back up, $60. So now I owe a bunch of people money and they said they can't even hook it up until Tuesday

Pretty obvious this is just some government bullshit to try and make me go insane and stab people so they can lock me up. It's working, I am done with this gay fuck earth.

I live in an apartment and it's winter time so now it's cold as fuck. The pipes are gone a freeze and burst and flood. It should be illegal to cut off power it's a God damn fire hazard.

Last time the government fucked with my power it caused my meth lab to explode. They tried to charge with me with arson but I could prove in a court of law that my legal lab had an accident caused by a electrical glitch when they yoinked my power.

Also I find it funny how as soon as corona virus hits Toronto they cut my power to make me go outside, get infected so they can quarantine me.

How is that not illegal?? Its illegal here to turn off power in winter.

The point is, they are banned from disconnecting your service by law for any reason. Call the Ontario Energy Board and the utility company and make a report and request action! Your power should never have been disconnected, by law!
