An introduction to music for the philistines of NIS

2020-01-12 at 5:32 PM UTC"This ain't music he doesn't even know any cords!"
Are you a normie stuck with the false belief that music is about skill and talent, rather than artistry and expression?
Would you like some examples of what music beyond the pop paradigm is?
Look no further than this thread, for JP is here to save your life and set you in the path towards sonic enlightenment.
Before you listen to any of these videos, make sure to watch tge interview linked above of music pioneer Genesis P-Orridge.
There is so much to music that you will never know if you limit your understanding of it to the popular mindset of "talent" and "skill".
Music is about expressing yourself and exploring sound, not chasing about outdated concepts such as music theory and talent.

Again
What kind of music do I like? (without looking at what I’ve posted in the past). Also, what is my understanding of music?. If you’re gonna judge me on it, at least know what you’re judging. -

Doesn't matter if it's rock, jazz, pop or electronic you're still clinging to a dated notion of what music is and can be.
What music do I listen to?
What is my understanding of music? -

2020-01-12 at 5:58 PM UTCThe links in this thread arent to try and turn you on to these genres but rather show you examples of musicians who have stepped outside of the pop paradigm.
It's quite sad that I have to even have this argument on a totse clone, people on a site like this should have come to this conclusion in their early teens.
Talent and skill serve no purpose, they are limitations that gimp the music you can make and limit your appreciation of the art form. -

I have already answered you two times, which were directed towards your comment about judging a band based on their live performance. -
2020-01-12 at 6:17 PM UTCAnd my questions are in response to you saying I listen to shit music and have no understanding of music.
What music do I listen to, that makes you say I listen to shit music? Name some bands.
What is my understanding of music, since you say I have no understanding?
I’m asking for examples to back up your assertions. -
2020-01-12 at 6:27 PM UTCI already answered question 2
You have to first post some examples of the bands you listen to before I can explain to you why you have such awful taste -
2020-01-12 at 6:29 PM UTCthis nigga does not understand what music theory is lol

Anybody can download a pdf lol. I have probably hundreds of books on my kindle. Doesn't mean I've read them all.
The fact that you think music theory is the antithesis to expressionism shows me that you do not know anything about music theory. I mean can you even triad bruh -

2020-01-12 at 6:45 PM UTClol op tells us to go listen to a live band, yet has never been to a live show..
talks about the totse days.. was never on totse...
its down right amazing people like you exist. like your whole persona is about being a mommas boi who has better "taste" than everyone else, as if anyone really gives a shit. You churn the same stuff over and over again yet call people normies when in fact you are the biggest normie here but you're too much of a dunce to see that. -

You seem to think music theory just means "rules" and seem to believe those rules apply to music you don't like, despite you not being able to hear the difference between A minor and #G.
Why don't you tell us what's wrong with big bad music theory, hmmm?
