...It's the Quaternary period. That is the period we are in today. It's also the period we were in 2 million years ago when humans crossed through Egypt into Eurasia. The Earth has remained largely the same, with the African plate in the same location now as it was 2.5 million years ago, and even 25 million years ago into the Neogene period. -
