My dale is old enough to be my grandale. Does this change the relationship dynamic much compared to a dale that's, say, 20 years younger? I feel like it does but I have no way to know myself.

I'm sure it does to some extent but necessarily for better or worse.
We all knew the one kid, Jack, growing up in school whose dad was like 55 when ours were all in their 20s and 30s. It was definitely something we thought and talked about now and then but for the most part it wasnt a big deal.
His name was Lou and he was actually cool shit. He was literally a neurosurgeon. Extremely intelligent, clever, big long gray beard. And he and Jack had a great relationship as far as I could ever tell.

My dad was 45 when I was born
He had a good job,a house a cpl vehicles and banged out all the snatch at that point. He was around and not all self absorbed like younger ppl that are pissed that they got trapped.
Dude was at every game and all the other shitty punk ass young dads didn’t want any part of him. Dude was bad ass.
