Big part of this is because Trump lowered the corporate tax rate from 35% to 21% in 2017, while simultaneously giving your average min wage worker the whopping jump from 15% to 12%. This faux populist shit is how he maintains corporatocracy in America.
Corporate tax in the 60s was about 53% and Boomers benefitted greatly from it. The top 1% had only 9% of all income, and anything made over 200k (about 1.5 mil today) was taxed at 91%. It's been steadily declining since, as has the economy.
And people still think the industrial elite aren't really running the show.
I've said it for years now. You wanna know who's really running things? Just look at who's got all the money. Simple.
