OP covering that holey vent is a good move. Looks like you're trying to heat the soil to me. Loss of heat through the ground can be serious. The house I'm in right now has big slabs of syrofoam in the foundations to keep heat from escaping through the ground.

Out of interest does the floor feel cold when you walk around? Maybe more carpets or some examination of the situation might be advisable.

Also don't worry about these fuckers. I have encountered some hot wires in my time, mainly due to incompetent electricians wiring stuff shitty. The reality is that electrical plastic doesn't just burst into flames.

(obviously the breaker needs to match all that).

ETA: Power cord is usually sold sized like that "14/3 SO" (where 14 is the gauge of wire, 3 is the number of wires/cores, and the SO is the type of insulation, SO SJO is commonly used, you don't really need to worry about the type of insulation unless you have a weird installation…such as outdoors, or chemical resistance etc.

    wut?

Really it looks beyond filthy, it's green, it looks like shit is growing in it. And it looks like it was installed by a check box ticker. Just ignore the entire bullshit system would be my advise.

I recommend you plug that electric heater into a 20 amp outlet. A 20 amp outlet can be differentiated from a 15 amp outlet by the 90 degree "bar" that comes from one of the parallel outlets.

A circuit breaker circuit will only carry 80-85% of the stated load for a continuous period. A 1500 watt heater will draw 12.5 amps (without counting the fan draw). 85% of 15 amps is 12.75 amps.

Yeah, don't listen to us. I only had an outlet start on fire because the cord wasn't rated for the heater I had plugged into it. Didn't know until the next day when I had no power to half the house.

I think it's 1500 including the fan draw. It's like a thing they have to follow. I certainly could be wrong though.

Stealing electricity - junction box method

Illegal but it will get you nigga neighbor pay for part of your electrical heating bill. Here is how its done. Identify the breaker that controls your outlets in a given room by opening the door on your breaker panel. Turn the breaker off and disconnect and cap the wire from it. Follow the wire from that breaker to first junction box. Do the same with your neighbors wiring but leave the breaker on and don't disconnect the wire. Open up the 2 junction boxes yours and the neighbors. Use same color wire and splice the wire in both junction boxes using wire nuts. Put covers back on both boxes. Now you are using your neighbors electricity free of charge.

You can also do a piggy back tap in the neighbors breaker panel but that one is easier to spot.

lol bromo, I 6 years ago the pigs arrested me and my shower was on... hot water.. and I was gone for a month and a half but the water was on for 2 weeks before someone actually turned it off.. I was so worried about that. When I got home the fan blades in my room were drooping like a dead flower and I went to grab my belt by my body pillow and it was mossy green, I flipped out lol. I probably have cancer now over that.
