well, yea, obviously there's a ton of advice out there and some of it would line up with your own personal beliefs just by coincidence anyways. i don't think the ability to listen has anything to do with being a "real man", but i do listen a lot. that is also irrelevant though because i listen to people say a lot of shit that is dumb or wrong. this thread wasn't assuming people are trying to control me with their advice. i think that they are probably mostly well intentioned. i mean who doesn't want to cuddle on the couch every night with the same safe person with a full belly and the sleepiness that accompanies it and just let your mind float? it may be good advice towards that goal. my point is that comfort is basically the opposite of experience, and experience is what makes life interesting. comfort makes it pleasant but boring.

Not trying to preach god because I'm not a believer myself, just saying it's as probable as anything else in the grand scheme of things, that true ascension is possible, and that chance/karma is actually something far more real and eternal than we can possibly understand. Believe what makes you comfortable.

i feel like everything i wrote went straight over your head. first off, no one said anything about god or karma so idk what you're replying to there. next, "ascension" is extremely ambiguous and you don't seem to offer any more specific of a definition as to what exactly you mean by that and also i never talked about anything like that that i know of, so again i am unsure how to reply to this.
then you say "believe what makes you comfortable" and it seems like you put those two quotes of mine next to each other to try to point out a discrepancy in my logic or something.
the point of the thread and my subsequent posts in it was its better to be uncomfortable sometimes (maybe almost all the time) and have a more engaging experience with life, even if while you're doing it you're kind of like "this sucks" sometimes. -
