They don't build many new trailer parks, and REITs have bought many of the existing ones and increased the lot rents. The trailers tend to be worth little even if in good condition because they almost become hostages of the park who sets the lot rent. There probably isn't any other park near by that's much cheaper because there likely haven't been any built in the area in decades, and zoning and permitting never gets any easier so every day it becomes more expensive to buy your own piece of land that you are allowed to put it on.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

It seems like a deliberate effort to make accomodation unaffordable.
Someone pointed out to me recently that the millenial concept of the "tiny house" was just a trailer.
It is true.
Our generation finds it hard to just find a place to live.

It's not an accident that homes are hard to even build nowadays. Even here you can buy the materials, you can own the land, you can provide the labour, but before you can put them together you need to pay tens of thousands in fees. -
