They have to do with how you feel and how you process things among other functions. If i were to hazard a guess it's probably due to some interaction between these chemicals and your brain that in some cases people experience what is called an out of body experience. Also it's important to remember that just because you don't have an answer to something, that doesn't mean it has to have some supernatural explanation.

There is an area in the brain that stops motor impulses from going to your limbs when you fall asleep. This is normal, because if we didn't have that we would walk around in our sleep and live out our dreams. There is an issue with this part of the brain when you get sleep paralysis. It's supposed to let motor impulses go through again, but it doesn't hence the paralysis.

Scientists don't actually think the Moon is hollow. Not only that, just because scientific theories are subject to change, doesn't mean they are wrong.

You are your body even though the brain seems to work in mysterious ways sometimes.

There are obvious necessities to life that the planet must supply. The drake eq is cool but I think its a little bit early to set it in stone. I think we could do a lot more experiments with trying to bring about something resembling a virus or simple single celled organisms and figure out a lot more on what exactly is needed for life to emerge.

Also as soph said, I wouldnt be surprised if the majority of life in the universe was microbial.

aliens are all around us. people can become space aliens. your brain doesn't do thinking. your brain is literally just a amplifier with complex i/o. the signal comes from elsewhere. your nerves are speaker wire and your muscles are speakers. thinking happens in your blood. that's why the only sure way to kill someone is through bloodloss. people can fight and just somehow remain living through almost anything else, but not bloodloss.

all life eventually becomes self aware. life existed before matter.

Like as far as we can tell it's happened exactly once on earth in what google tells me is 4.6 billion years which is a reasonable fraction of the life of the whole universe and as we can see high technology poses a lot of existential risks. IDK, I'm not going to try and plug in numbers because I'm sure someone else has, better, but several of the coefficients in the drake equation seem pretty pessimistically small to me.

yeah.. cause theres a million billion planets out there potentially

just because there isn't evidence doesn't mean it doesn't exist. and I don't believe in things being "paranormal" or "supernatural" I believe in reality.

100 years ago If you told people there would be a spaceship that would leave earth and fly to the moon, people would of said things like "dats supernatural, will never happen!"

Sure, but because there is no evidence of flying spaghetti monsters would it be reasonable to assume they exist? I don't think it would be.

Just to be contrarian what is the line between flying spaghetti monster and flying saucer? Why is one more reasonable and the other not? I have my own understanding of why one is more realistic but I would be interested to hear your explanation.

^flying spaghetti monster is just a child like narrative/argument that lazy atheist put out so they don't actually have to have a real dialogue

theres tons of declassified and leaked information about aliens and ufo's. Sophie is the kinda guy that eats up fake news with a spork.

its like green plastics thread about a kid wearing a shirt (science doesn't care what your beliefs are) or something to that effect, just because science is a thing doesn't mean there isn't a god or aliens or ghost. And in fact science has been proven to be wrong many times before.

just because an official narrative is given doesnt mean its true, sophie has thrown out how he doesn't believe the official narrative behind 9/11

yet something so obvious and experienced by thousands of people is just poppy cock..

But the instances where it is wrong it was proven to be so using the scientific method. Which kind of makes the body of knowledge that is science a self correcting system.

Both are equally unreasonable, but in general, everyone agrees that Unicorns and things like flying spaghetti monsters don't exist.
