there needs to be an open source means of communication that can't be tampered with

    the net doesn't suffice

    simple ham radio doesn't

    something needs to be invented

we need a new form of radio

something anyone can use to transmit their thoughts

it can't be hacked or suppressed

This is a matter of emergency that concerns the livelihood of all people

I want to do something like this but only for voice and text, no video or pictures. And I want it to be limited, like certain people on the network can make a phone call or send a text at certain times of the day.

I want to use lowfer and ELF as well as 2.4 ghz and maybe a few other frequencies. Amateurs can fuck with 2.4 all day long but the rest of it, especially if encrypted, is very unlikely to be messed with by anyone but the NSA or other such agencies and in that case who cares

    EDIT: OP Is a fed

    There are two options:

    1. is to use existing infrastructure, for example hiding peer-to-peer traffic on the existing koshernet. In the past I've talked about creating a fake voice conversation on a peer-to-peer voice chat service, ie. each participant has a set of randomly generated questions and responses, and as the questions and responses are sent between participants an extra layer of data is encrypted and encoded into the voice.

    2. is to create a new network, for our intentions it would have to be decentralised so some sort of mesh network. we could potentially encode/decode data through standard HAM radio frequencies and use it like an old-school dial-in BBS, but bandwidth would be extremely limited and it'd be easy to interfere with. higher frequencies allowing greater bandwidth typically have less range for the amount of power required so to connect across long distances, we'd need either a lot of repeaters or a lot of peers. or both.

2.4ghz is extremely congested as it is, probably not ideal for a durable connection

If you use directional antennas the congestion doesn't matter anywhere near as much.

I had this idea too. Always wondered if anyone had done it or thought about it. Great way for terrorists to exchange messages, but also a great way to do drug deals and such.

Personally I think a combination of net and ham radio would be the way to go. I've put a lot of thought and research into this in preparation for a doomsday scenario, and what I've come up with would probably be applicable to what you are looking for.

There's not one device out there that doesn't have a hidden backdoor designed into it by the manufacturer. And so the spooks can access any device, no matter how well guarded it is, because the manufacturers and the spooks work hand in hand.
