For Criminals like you, Yes they do. But you would have one hell of a time getting a Judge to believe it with your background. I mean I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure this is a most likely outcome.
And yes, you do have "Stand your ground" rights. If you hit someone and injured them like a knockout for your own protection, you're more than likely to be charged as well as the person who was starting shit towards you. This is true and I hope this law gets changed soon. But If you are a Third Party Self Defense with witnesses (which you would certainly have) then you most likely would walk from it.
Now You might try and sue me afterwards but that's not in a criminal court.
