But the truth is, you're only permitted to use water resistant tiles, not regular ceiling tiles like the ones in the pic. -

No, there is no law requiring you to use one or the other because the layer you see is water resistant regardless. If there IS some sort of law regulating this feel free to cite it, otherwise fuck off. -

I never said they were. YOU said the inspector would fine the landlord and make him install a new ceiling, Grylls said "thank you captain obvious" and I responded to Grylls stating you are actually wrong and there is no law on the books stating you have to use a certain tile in the bathroom. Furthermore, the visible layer is VINYL so OF COURSE it's moisture RESISTANT. Not WATERPROOF, it can take a slight mist and not fuck up. -
