He's a democratic socialist. America already employs TONS of democratic socialist policies. Welfare, food stamps, highways, public water, social security, etc etc. All very popular institutions.
But Healthcare oh goddd no! Not that one!
Good thing the youth is voting in force, and America is largely liberal anyway. Without the electoral system Hilary would've won. And thats without the gerrymandering. America basically flip flops constantly between parties so whichever Democrat wins the primaries will be president. Trump cannot even win Fox News polls, so that's definitely not happening. -
2019-09-21 at 3:57 AM UTCI'd have to find out what that specific funding package was for, but generally speaking the US would not have actually withheld funding over something so trivial as public sector corruption. The financial stool is too important a foreign policy tool and they're not going to kick it out before they have to. Quotes from IMF analysts mean nothing here because they look at it from a purely financial perspective.

I think the context of this is important. I'm not sure of the timeline of whether Ukraine was able to guarantee the couple billion from the IMF in exchange for getting raped like a brown third world country. This was done during a tumultuous time when It was basically Porky dressing up in camo and conscripting 16 year olds to fight "russian terrorists" while Yaknstak (whatever the moby looking piece of shits name is spelled) handled the bureaucracy. Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in the world and those two are both oligarchs (moby less so but still) who obviously have vested interest in "selectively prosecuting corruption." Was bursima holdings likely to be prosecuted? In my unexpert opinion, probably not, as they were not a russian sympathetic entity. Sometime during this Russia shut the gas off to Ukraine until payments were made and naftogaz was unable to fill the void. Porky is obviously not above ridiculous levels of conflict of interest and corruption and it would cost FAR less than a billion to have a prosecutor fired, especially if they were an anti corruption hawk, which sorkin definitely wasn't. It's very possible Joe Biden was worried about his son getting caught in a probe (because he was definitely doing corrupt things in Ukraine) and dangled the aid as leverage because he's a weirdo who gets off on stuff like that. However, the case is ENTIRELY circumstantial and obviously Joe had the foresight not to mention his sons name personally so nothing concrete will ever come off this. Trump is basically doing the exact same thing right now but instead of worries about his son, it's to do with worries about his reelection.

2019-09-21 at 5:25 AM UTCThe Donetsk People's Republic (DPR or DNR; Russian: Донецкая Народная Республика, tr. Donetskaya Narodnaya Respublika, IPA: [dɐˈnʲɛtskəjə nɐˈrodnəjə rʲɪˈspublʲɪkə], Ukrainian: Донецька Народна Республіка, romanized: Donets'ka Narodna Respublika) is a declared people's republic and proto-state in the Donetsk Oblast of Ukraine recognised only by the partially recognised South Ossetia and Luhansk People's Republic.
It receives humanitarian and military backing from Russia. Ukraine is at war with the DPR and Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) and has designated it as a terrorist group. It was part of the unrecognised Novorossiya confederation with the LPR until 20 May 2015,[11] and since February 2015, has postured itself as the successor to the historic Donetsk–Krivoy Rog Soviet Republic. Along with the Luhansk People's Republic and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the Donetsk People's Republic is considered by Ukraine one of three temporarily occupied territories of as a result of Russian military intervention.
The DPR was nominally founded by the Donetsk Republic separatist organisation, which was banned by Ukraine in 2007. On 7 April 2014, a group of rebel militants who were occupying the Donetsk RSA building and the City Hall buildings declared the creation of the DPR. Occupation of government buildings spread throughout Donetsk Oblast over the next week.
On 11 May 2014, status referendums were held in Donetsk and Luhansk, where separatist leaders claimed that a vast majority of participants voted in support of the establishment of the People's Republics. On 24 May, the two separatist republics signed an agreement confirming their merger into a confederation called Novorossiya. Between April and July 2014 some parts of Ukraine's Donetsk Oblast were brought under the control of the Donetsk People's Republic; however, the Armed Forces of Ukraine regained many of these areas in its early July 2014 post-ceasefire government offensive during the War in Donbass. This offensive led to the Donetsk People's Republic controlling only the areas near the city of Donetsk. In the pro-Russian forces August 2014 counter-offensive the Donetsk People's Republic, with the help of Russian troops and arms, gained territory again.
The DPR and the Ukrainian government estimate that over 50% of the total population of Donetsk Oblast, around 1,870,000 people, live in DPR-held regions. Although the rebels do not control most of Donetsk Oblast in terms of area, they hold major cities like Donetsk, the capital, and Horlivka. -

2019-09-21 at 3:56 PM UTCSorry Techhie, but I'm with the opposition on this one. Not only did Biden gloat about it himself, but his own idiocy about admitting to bailing out his son are much more proof than anything the corporate media has been producing so far.
As for Trump ... The extreme-left insanity is worse. I for one think that Trump is bad, but hey, not that bad. He's a reality TV show star, elected for a President, and he still acts like it to some degree. Then the democratic side are busy raging about ... Straws and sharpies.
Trump may be boorish, pompous and egotistical. But he knows what he's doing. The alternatives ... Not so much. I also don't accept politi-fact as a credible source, as they uphold their political values above facts. They're all over the place when it comes to Trump, but they completely forget about many issues which their preferred political side faces. For instance, you won't hear them condemn and call out Antifa for what they really are: a terrorist group.
You won't hear them condemn the blatant racism and double standards that the DNC is guilty of. Now, not that I care about racism much, because I'm of the opinion that words, so long as they're not direct calls to terrorism, don't matter. Sticks and stones and such. But that's more than words. Democrats have been resigning because they're white. Because diversity is now more important than competence. Let that sink in. People resigned. Because of their race.
I may not like Trump, but I'd rather support the President than a bunch of double standard racists which is what the left has become as of late. And what bothers me most isn't even that they're racists. It's the double standards. Claiming moral superiority while pushing anti-white, anti-cis bigotry. I'm not even white myself. I've suffered hate due to it. My body still bears the scars. Those will remain until my death.
But even I can see the lunacy. US is slowly becoming the next South Africa, where killing a man because he's white is widely accepted and normalized, because according to left-wing bigots, anti-white racism isn't a thing. -
2019-09-21 at 4:01 PM UTCThey want their beloved Hillary back. They're so desperate to get her back they want her to run for President again, which would make her a bonafide three-time loser.

This is absolutely ludicrous lol. Trump knows what he's doing? We are facing a recession. We were on an economic upturn for most of Obama's presidency. These high tariffs are negatively impacting American business and causing companies to move overseas, and the Chinese to come take their place.
And the double racism is just a ridiculous flanderization of a minority of the left. You wouldn't say all Trump supporters were racist, would you? Don't buy into the dividing polarization this two party system has created. The crazies on both sides are in the minority, its just that the politicians pander to extremes and give a false image of what the citizen base of these parties is actually like. Nobody questions that corporations control politics in America, so I don't understand why they think those politics are somehow representative of the American populace.
The only candidate for 2020 with any integrity right now is Bernie Sanders, who sounds exactly the same now as he did back in the 1970's. Same message. Somehow even looks the same. Everyone else has flip flopped on their stances. And yeah, even Warren. She's just liberal Hilary Clinton 2.0, and Biden is even worse.
If we want to make American politics actually representative of American opinions we need to ban corporate lobbying and all its gifting loopholes, get rid of the electoral system which creates a disparity in voting power among US citizens, and also abolish this dichromatic dichotomy that creates a system of winners and losers in politics instead of giving politicians power based on how well they did in the vote. So instead of A getting 51% and B getting 49%, and the seat going to A, we should give 51% of power to A and 49% of power to B, like they do in many other democratic countries. Of course, we can't do that with this two party bullshit. It won't work out well. We really need someone crazy enough to abolish both the Republicans and the Democrats. -

Yup. Trump knows exactly what he's doing. I'm not saying that what he's doing is right, but he has is under his entire control. A good example would be Trump passing legislation behind the left's back, without any push-back at all. How? By tweeting nonsense.
Because extreme-left pundits are so busy with their social media circlejerks, the vast majority were busy railing on him for his comments about the Squad and his plastic straws. While the truly important things, such as immigration legislation, flew under the radar.
That's exactly why I'm so disgusted with the Democratic party to be honest. Because I disagree with Trump on most policies, but the left has gone so far left that ... I actually prefer Trump to them. Despite being a centrist. I was literally forced out of my center-left position to center-right. Simply because the left is going insane.
I should've perhaps been more clear about my statements. It's the extreme-left which is the racist bigots. Not all of it. But Bernie, for example, is part of them. Remember his statements? "White people don't know what it's like to be poor"? So you're telling me there's nothing wrong with it? Isn't racism exactly that? Defining a person by their race as opposed to their merits?
More importantly, Bernie was pushing for 15$ minimum wage. What did he do when his staffers requested that that exact wage be applied to them? He opted to reduce the quality of his campaign instead. Is that what you call integrity? Demand that others pay more while he himself won't chip in?
I do agree with you on something though. The Democratic party has flipped. And that's my biggest issue. As I mentioned before, if there were any credible Democrats, who'd fight against Trump with policy as opposed to screeching and "equality" based on anti-white racism, then sure. I had a lot of hope for Tulsi Gabbard. But what did the Democratic party do? Get her out of the debates, despite her meeting the criteria. Why? Because she's not woke enough.
I also agree that there should be a position which would allow both the left and the right apply legislation if it makes sense and if the American public is supportive of it. I completely agree that a two party system isn't nearly enough. And I tend to be center, fluctuating between left and right as it goes.
And while certainly, not all of the Democratic party is racist. Such a statement would be foolish and ignorant. The problem is, that those who lead the democratic power are. Again, I urge you to take a look at Democratic staffers resigning or being kicked out because they're white. Would that happen if the bigots and racists within the left were a minority? Possibly. But what would that mean? That would mean that this minority holds power.
And the minority isn't looking out for you, me or any average American. Unless you're part of that minority.

I don't care about the one singular comment Bernie made. Literally every single person in existence has said some shit that they could've explained better. There's an interview I saw where he addresses this comment and explains it better, but I can't remember who did it. He's not a racist though, and none of his policies would negatively impact people of any particular race in the way Trump's have.
Also even his lowest paid staffers are making 36,000 a year, with 100% health coverage and two weeks paid vacation. They are not paid hourly, that's their yearly salary agreed upon after his staffers became the first political staffers to unionize. The reason they're complaining was more to do with the hours worked. A 40h work week would put them at about 17.75/h. But they were working sometimes 60h weeks and making more like 12-13/h. Now they've agreed to limit the work week down to 42 or 43 hours which would make it about 15/h. That's what's in their union contract.
I haven't heard of any other political candidate treating their staff this well. Sure, "Bernie refuses to pay staff 15/h" makes a good headline but the reality is not so clean and simple.
