I am sure you have felt some deep emotions before, now you might say bah! Humbug! This is a valid question, if i am prevented from performing some action it is because this action has some emotional impact on me in one way or another. And you cannot argue that this is a bad thing, because what of murder? Is murder not wrong? Do we want people to be murderers? If i didn't feel like i would suffer immense emotional distress for taking a life, i might go out and do it. Even in a free society where i cannot be put into jail, i would be prevented from performing this negative action by my own emotional experience. Now you can say SEE! This is why it is limiting, but do we not limit ourselves all the time? We need to limit our sugar intake if we don't want to get diabetes, we need to limit our exposure to the elements if we are not to freeze to death. And ar these things not inherrently good things? Because they are good for us on a personal level and for the species in it's entirety.
