2019-08-15 at 4:22 PM UTCMy great-grandfather was a teamster who actually drove a team of horses and wagon full of wood across the Mississippi to help build the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. I was a Teamster shop steward back in my days managing Vickers gas stations. That was a joke. I was in a union at my last HVAC company. That was a joke and management had a "tool allowance" that was the same as the union dues as well as no set pay standards. You had to beg for a raise individually every year. Union in name only. My son is currently a union millwright working out of the union hall. He has been working his way towards his full journeyman position within the next year. When he has to go out of town, he gets money for food and lodging. He has had to go to and pass classes several times a year. When he gets his full journeyman status soon, he will be making close to $40/hr. My point is that unions can be very good but can also suck. Join a real union and work your ass off.

My dad was a union shop steward when I was 0-14 before he became a fireman. All I remember is they were on strike for probably 10 of those 14 years on and off and we were dirt poor because of it.
Due to that poverty Christmases and Birthdays usually consisted of a good beating and being given an empty sack to go and collect pieces of coal at the local mine waste pile/slag heap whatever it was called so we could have birthday fire instead of the usual freezing to death hungry.
Unions are therefore shit. -

2019-08-15 at 7:29 PM UTCUnions are companies that represent the workers(or are supposed to). The company hires you and trains you.

The next thing you'll tell us is that only your mother ever loved you (and she was probably lying).
My mother sold me for money to purchase land rights to a circus but it wasn't so bad because it was a vaudeville circus of HTS types and my job was clown wig boy. By I wanted to Be the clown-nose boy..so I ran off and joined a church ran by a guy name Jim Jones and I went out to gather berries for a picnic but came back and everyone must of ate too much because they were all sleeping it off
