    No, it's not always earned. Worker rights are often abused and violated. Every shithead corporation will blow smoke up your ass about raises and promotions and incentives and then lie and fuck you over at their convenience. Unions hold these people to standards and limitations because otherwise these people don't know how to act or treat people like humans.

    Well yes, respect is ALWAYS earned...otherwise it's not really respect.

    Rights are given by authority. Workers have a choice, do as they are told, accept what they are given...or go elsewhere. Workers don't make the rules.

    lt like I should clear some things up.
    My current job does pay more than minimum wage and I have been there long enough that it all is pretty easy.
    But...
    I dont get paid enough to live the way I want and I am not going to either.
    As of right now I am out of weed and my phone is out of minutes.
    So I gotta find more money cuz this is shit someone who is almost 30 shouldn't be worrying about.
    Its bad enough most the money I make is stolen from me by the government to support people even lazier than I but for the last year I have made due.
    I think I have been ok with it for as long as I have because when I got out of rehab I didn't have anything so I was happy with whatever I got.
    Well let me tell you,
    I HAVE ATE ENOUGH VAN CAMPS PORK AND BEANS.
    I wanna mother fucking rock tail lobster for breakfast.
    Being poor is only ok after being broke.
    If my back didn't hurt so much sitting with horrible posture at my computer I would just keep typing this forever but it does hurt and it sucks cuz i suck the dick of a big metal machine hundreds if not thousands of times per day for a wage that I gaurentee my superiors wouldn't be okay ever living off.
    Basically I am tired of feeling like a bitch.
    I want a better job.
    And I want to be represented on behalf of my taxation.
    Now I will do my part and learn something and do it everyday but I dunno what to choose.
    Is there a list of jobs the James Hoffa and the Teamsters will protect my interests in?
    Need help.

    Possibly...short term thinking though. Several industries have been destroyed because of the high wages union workers demand. Long term Unions result in closed factories and outsourcing to overseas...which equates to less job opportunities for those here.
