Lol what the fuck are you guys arguing about. Nicotine has no effect on whether you're a hard or shit worker. But the mental state of nicotine users at work does seem to be a lot more zen and focused. Some people use that to their advantage, some people don't. I'm convinced neither of you have ever had even one job -

2019-08-14 at 3:26 PM UTCYou're assuming it's a need or habit. For the most part I don't smoke cigs, but sometimes I buy a pack and it lasts me a month (between two people)
I also keep buying 0mg vape juice which makes HTS threaten to break up with me because she's a hardcore nicotine addict but I am not
I'm a good worker and your biased assumptions cause unnecessary turnover and retraining costs. One of those smokers you fired could have been a lifelong company man and a great worker but you let him go because of your own personal issues and emotions
Typical toxic management. Sounds to me like you're the one that needs to get the boot and replaced with someone who doesn't let emotions affect their judgement -

2019-08-14 at 3:41 PM UTCanecdotes aren't evidence. It has nothing to do with work ethic you just dislike smokers which is a personal bias which makes you bad at management.
What you're doing is actually against the law. Firing someone because you don't like some aspect about them is discrimination and does nothing except make you feel better at the cost of time and money to your employer. -

No it's not...if I fired them for smoking it would be, but I don't fire them for smoking and I don't tell them smoking stopped them from getting the job..to be against the law THAT needs evidence and proof.

So you're like one of those managers at a call center that fires people because they were 30 seconds late from a break a month ago.
all you are doing is wasting company time and money just so you have a smoke free safe space. -

No, I don't fire people for being late, I just expect them to make the time up during their lunch break or after hours. I only fire worthless workers, as mentioned it so happens the smokers tend to also be worthless...not all but that's been my experience and again, it's my experience that matters, not some clowns or statistic.
I fired 2 last week for arguing with their supervisor and having a near 100% rejection rate on the stuff they built. I got 2 replacements in this week and they are fine

2019-08-14 at 4:10 PM UTCGreat news!
Sploohammed: Do not go to work high bro, always arrive early but never stay late unless you want to (i.e. assert your clock value).
Always look for advancement and show initiative, even in the shittiest jobs. You are a smart kid and I know your autism lets you see patterns like rain man. Use that, be present and minmax it: maybe it's as simple as your daily route, identifying hotspots and fatties to walk by who will be tempted etc. Find it, excel, distinguish yourself.
You have a lot of potential and you can do very well now that you are committed to a proper direction.
Godspeed.

2019-08-15 at 1:27 PM UTCno it's not, because your experiences aren't consistent repeatable data and you are only exposed to the specific geographic areas you lived in.
American smokers are probably all lazy assholes but Dart breaks are part of the Canadian working mans culture

2019-08-15 at 1:33 PM UTCSo you're saying it's impossible for someone to be incompetent if they've been doing it long enough. Quality of performance = time the task is being performed

No that's not what I said at all...(lol how did you come to that conclusion).
What I said was there is no one except myself I have to convince about a persons eligibility..If I am hirer and firer aka...judge jury and executioner...then my 30+ yrs of experience doing it and literally hundreds (if not thousands) of hired and fired personnel is all the experience I need to make a decision about someone.
If a mistake is made and I hire a worthless nob then they are quickly dispatched...and the positive to that is more data for the record.
If a mistake is made and I don't hire a good worker...it also doesn't really matter as I'll never know if they were a good worker or a bad worker (Schrodinger's cat etc).
When I post a job I get about 50 applicants a day. (I'll be posting 2 in the next hour)...I can choose to be picky with that many people to choose from...for example depending on my mood that day simply your name could exclude you from the job..Shaquanda for example.
As I say i'll be posting a couple of jobs in the next hour or two...I'll post the list of applicants if you like so you can play the "lets pick a name game"
Fucking lol
