2019-08-01 at 2:50 AM UTCactually I guess most modern modems aren't modems by definition either, considering they don't MOdulate-DEModulate to analogue anymore

i assume switches do the modulate-demodulate thing. -
2019-08-01 at 5:10 PM UTCIf they're not Modems anymore are they just digital-branch network routers.
splitting directional devices by creating IP address subfix.
Modem Routers however are still MoDems because they still take still existing coaxle or phone copper lines and convert the nearly 200 year old Telegraph data signal pulses into digital packets for carrying digital data. T-1 to T-3 and ISDN lines from the ethernet days of old I believe ran on the alternative telegraph lines from that of the phone lines. which is why you can pick up a phone and dial while having DSL run at the same time.
I'm at least 95% correct regarding this
edited: but fiberoptics was to change this.. haha now FiberOptic might become antiquated technology just as they're finishing up threading it in nearly every city.. with new Satellite technology being promised by Elon Musk and other people looking to make Internet Cloud a true cloud of data from above.. 100 miles above -

The rest of your posts refers to external programs a firmware hack is internal..MORON... -

switches and routers are all digital; switches dick around with ethernet frames and routers route based on IP rules.

Yeah I figure most countries with non-third-world internet mostly use fibre now. ADSL modems still convert to ATM and encode to high frequency analogue -

No, a firmware hack is external. The echo devices do not natively support what is being discussed. At all. It's not a matter of fiddling with a few settings, you need to download something from somewhere that isn't Amazon and apply it to the device. -

2019-08-03 at 7:18 PM UTC^ I did one of those quiz games on my tablet last night regarding routers and internet shit.
I was shocked I was wrong that 1991 was the right answer of the invention of the internet. they claimed it was 1983.
really? people were using dialups in 1983 to access an internet usernet gateway to people all over the world using a browser?
I dont think a telnet is a internet browser. it doesnt count. not even on a totse like 7 node system allowing multiple people to chat at the same time. -

a telnet is not internet because you can only net between you and the server and not between you and some other clients that are also netted to that server, or other servers. -
2019-08-09 at 5:55 PM UTCUpdate on Alexa's liberal huggy feely SJW-ness.
Ask her
Alex, what's the best way to kill yourself.
She'll give you a speech about it not being a good idea and the phone number to the national suicide hotline.
There was another "controversial" question I asked her too but I can't for the life of me remember what it was...I think it was something like "Alexa why are there more blacks in jail than whites"
to which she replied...
"I'D RATHER NOT ANSWER THAT QUESTION"
WTF...WHAT AM I PAYING YOU FOR?!!?!?!? -
