I have no problem with the little mermaid being done live by a black girl if the reason she was chosen is because she was the best person for the part. That's how those things are suppose to work, not based on one's skin color

I don't give a motherfuck who portrays the half fish woman from a Disney film.
But people would flip their shit if Black Panther was played by a Chinese guy. However when it happens to a white character, being uncomfortable with the change is taken to mean you are a fucking racist. It's clear there are double standards. IMO it is alright to cast by race where it is appropriate for the character. However for some characters it literally doesn't matter, like the little fucking Mermaid. But for Black Panther it would change the whole story. Similarly, I wouldn't care too much if you swapped out Denzel with a good white actor in most of his roles. If the actor is good then whatever. But sometimes skin colour can matter, it's just one more aspect of appearance and "looking the part".
