One of the others in his group, Bronfman, bankrolled NXIVM. He claims that it was his daughter and that he disapproved of her joining the 'cult', but it seems very unlikely that she would have been able to funnel so much of his money into it if he truly did not approve.
along with the standard rapey details, law enforcement at the time apparently believed that it was a similar operation to what Epstein later turned out to be - young girls were being rented out to powerful people, they were recorded and later blackmailed.
if it's true, I wonder how many of his associates were also running similar operations. -

If you have ever read Issac Asimov's Foundation Trilogy Trump reminds of The Mule in that story in that he was the one factor they couldn't calculate in their plans.
