2019-07-12 at 1:37 AM UTCyea, it's hard to find people who are chill and don't do drugs because most people are lazy and so most people who don't do drugs still resort to alcohol, food or religion. i think the only thing to do is continuously give yourself goals even if they're really meaningless, convince yourself that it will make you happy, and continue to pursue them, and then the pursuit is the part where you actually have fun supposedly, because you've managed to distract yourself from the existential dread hanging over your head for the same amount of time that you've been distracted. then when later you think thoughts like "but did i really do anything meaningful all day? week? month or year?" you have to have some dump lil catch phrase ready that doesn't make any logical sense but somehow justifies whatever you wasted your time doing

Do you mean Portugal?
Or are there two Hispanic/Latin nations starting with P that are known for having incredibly radical/progressive drug policies?
I know that Portugal has seen incredible results all around after decriminalizing all drugs.
More people seek treatment (due to reduced stigma, presumably); jails aren't as crowded; etc. -

Yeah I think this general concept of doing drugs "consequence-free" can be very differently interpreted...
The downsides to doing drugs, whichever drugs one might prefer, are numerous in number and scattered in scope.
There are potential legal repercussions as severe as death (well, at least for trafficking in some countries).
Physical and mental health are also potentially greatly impacted by drug use, and these effects don't much care what country one is in.
Then there are social/cultural effects, like being ostracized by your friends and family.
And then, there are strictly pragmatic/practical concerns when it comes to addiction taking higher priority than day-to-day responsibilities; or even doing irresponsible or even illegal/immoral things as a result of severe inebriation.
But then, if you could eliminate ALL of those potential downsides, there would be absolutely no reason not to use drugs...
There's something almost disconcerting about that alone. -
2019-07-12 at 8:35 AM UTCI believe it is Uruguay that has decriminalized all drugs, not Paraguay. I say that because I decided about 6 years ago that that's where I ultimately want to move if I have the opportunity.
I dont really care as much anymore and I'm not a big drug guy anyway so it wouldn't really matter. I dont have a drug charge on my record here so I dont need to escape to somewhere else to continue not being worried about it.
If anything I'll move there because its beautiful. 😍 -

2019-07-12 at 9:38 AM UTCuraguay decriminalized all drugs for possession, paraguay only 10 grams of weed and two grams of coke or heroin. both pretty progressive countries tho compared to most western nations.
i also looked into moving to uraguay for a while, but the criminal record makes it very hard tho.
