It's my fault for coming to the table so late really, so I had like 6 or 7 years worth of DLC and expansion packs to catch up on. It's not so bad when you're only spending like $20 a year on it as the DLC comes out. >_>
Paradox's grand strategy games are just a perfect match for my brand of autism. -
2019-06-26 at 8:22 PM UTCBut yeah if you bought all of Paradox's grand strategy games with all their DLC at full price, you could probably have spent that money on like,,, a reasonable used car or a down payment on a shitty house.

2019-06-26 at 8:30 PM UTCBut you could just support the developer a reasonable amount instead and pirate to get all the DLC. Why would you buy all of it when it's clearly a money grab which adds only minor changes to the game, and even on sale is ridiculously expensive. I mean I liked Oblivion, but I wasn't about to get the horse armor DLC.

It adds more than horse armor lol. Sure the unit skins/coats of arms/portraits aren't really unnecessary, but all the expansions/content packs add new, neat features which I actually missed from when I had it pirated. There are a couple horse armor tier DLCs, but the major ones add a lot of depth to the gameplay. I am kinda salty that they haven't done what Blizzard did with WoW though (ie bundle the game with most of the expansions at a reasonable price and only sell the newest ones individually). 😢 -

Having played the DLC, I strongly disagree. I mean it's good and new and all (not exactly horse armor DLC) but they're still charging a ridiculous price for the value you get. How much work do you really think they put into the black plague? It's not like they're spending hours and hours on models and animations.
I'm really against DLC in general though. There are very very few companies who seem to do it right and seem like they're actually putting work into it. -

Reaper's Due adds a fair bit of complexity to the health mechanics. Instead of just "becoming ill", you gradually develop symptoms. It also added the ability to hire/appoint a court physician to treat your symptoms. On top of that it added plague outbreaks as you said, as well as other minor disease outbreaks, and hospitals to treat them. It adds whole new mechanics in the form of county prosperity and disease resistance. And of course all of this is topped off with a healthy dose of new in-game character events to add to the depth and immersion of your game. Without Reaper's Due you can't become a one-eye'd pagan king. And without Reaper's due I wouldn't have been able to challenge a one-eye'd, one-handed noble to a duel and then chop off one of his legs in the process, leaving him barely half a man. That's some real flavor, baby. And I'd miss it if it wasn't there. -

Same here, mine is a shitty one made from old spare parts, but been playing kotor1&2 fine recently.
Also got FTL and Risk of Rain, haven't play RoR but FTL is good but unfair, all are going cheap right now, kotors and these 2. -
2019-06-29 at 4:18 PM UTCWhy even buy games from these chronic idiots when you can just download the full ISO and crack for absolutely free and no hassles whatsoever?
