Who knew that is where The Simpson's "Springfield" would end up being. some guessed it because I think the creator went to college in Eugene?

I met that Matt guy once. I was looking at some comics in Longs Drugs in my home town and he started a conversation with me around 1988 and he said he was the creator of the cartoon on the Tracy Ullman show.

I mean it looked like him. I asked him what he was doing in the East Bay and he said visiting a friend (A musician)

    meh

I go to the Eugene/Springfield area regularly. Ashland/Grants Pass/Medford sometimes. Portland all the time. Along the coast in the summer months. Lots of other places as well. All year long.

Still no one has a true grasp on this

it's not an actual place that is occupied by township and or such.

it's a place where humans wouldn't want to hang out and usually there are humorous posts made by people in a sidewindow while on maps.google.com

I mean, ok maybe detroit might border this or blackpool in the uk.. but there not entirely bad areas. not full of radiation..much.

that's cool. Grants Pass is dangerous in the winter months. I saw a documentary on how they close it down for a reason. but in the summer months it must be beautiful. especially when you get to the coast I'm sure.

I havn't been to oregon in probably 38 years now. Last place was my first trip up to Portland and then onto Seattle for a few days.

as a matter of fact, Mt St Helens had blew just 3-4 months prior. So that summer of 1980. I think MT St Helen blew May of 1980. it was a few months afterwards. it dumped shitloads of ash onto Yakima Valley I'm told. We went through the valley and it was all gone by then.. or blended in with the rain and soil. beautiful area. looks kind of like a desert but thick with small trees. then we went back south to the bay area.
