I am just a buyer seeking to purchase a product. It doesn't have to be so complicated.
There is plenty of opium to go around and the farmers should be able to sell to whoever they damn well please. The cartels don't need it anymore, there is evidence to suggest the opium farmers are getting screwed over because of the cartels switching to fentanyl.

2019-06-24 at 3:18 PM UTCbesides, like I said multiple times the cartel doesn't care about opium anymore. Why buy morphine from farmers when you can just import 1000kg of N-Phenethyl-Piperidone and cook that into fentanyl.
The poppy farmers have been switching to growing weed because nobody is buying the opium and if they do they aren't getting getting much money from it. I'm sure there is a large stockpile of morphine out there somewhere that someone just wants to get rid of.
If the cartel was smart they would import all the morphine to USA and sell it at a premium on the darknet like these guys did. Instead of $500 a kilo they could be getting $50/gram

That's true but according to the numbers they are producing more fentanyl and less heroin because growing poppies is a lot more labor intensive than industrial chemistry.
I get the impression that they want to help poor farmers so they do probably buy from most of them but demand is just not the same as it was a few years ago. I just know there is some Mexican out there that has access to large amounts of cheap morphine.
As long as you aren't selling and cutting into their business I think there is an opportunity out there to get really high and do some badass chemistry
