   No. That's not what happened at all. Iran knows conflict is right around the corner so they shot down a US drone to signal to the rest of the world that the US regularly invades foreign airspace to conduct surveillance. That's not the first time they've known about US drones in their airspace.
   
   Then the whole US response was a choreographed song and dance to look willing and able to use military force while at the same time giving Trump a chance to score positive PR points because "he cares about innocent lives"

    What really happened is the US military industrial complex and the deep state conspired to taunt Iran by flying a US military drone into their airspace, knowing full well they would shoot it down, then they lied to Trump and the fake news media and their useful idiots about it. But Trump saw through their bullshit and lies, so now they're trying to figure out another way to kickstart their attempt to start a world war. Problem is, these idiots are no longer in control, and that's a big problem for them.
