I mean, fuck, in most of the bay outside of San Francisco and Oakland, and by god, you know the latter has serious problems, although some large swaths of SF do as well and are downright unpleasant to visit, even dangerous at times, due to niggers, druggies, homeless, stupid fucking street kids, and tourists, there's just nothing interesting around at all. Oh, well, maybe the Downtown Berkeley area as well to some extent, UC if there's anything there that interests you.
Fortunately you're the kind of person that seems to be able to enjoy the little things, where to me they're only a reminder of the pitiful insignificance and inadequacy of our small lives, forms of endless repetition that are continuously occurring throughout the world, largely interchangeable and amounting to nothing, never having the feeling of novelty to begin with. Then there's food, but I've abandoned the most mundane of worldly pleasures. Whenever I've tried a new item of prepared food, a new recipe, it's never been close to satisfying, always a disappointment. I don't even feel hunger like normal people do. I think I have an unusually weak sense of taste and smell, and am anhedonic in general, but there just has to be something better in life. The next step, of course, is to realize that all pleasures are biologically determined, even psychological condition is mediated by neurological, physical, changes. Why are certain video games, or books enjoyable? Anyway, that could drag on too long.
Yeah, the culture is horrendous. Did you know that LA is actually the city with the lowest level of trust among people? It even effects things like trust in the media and government, so it's a general level of societal trust. But there are definitely some things you would be interested if you do some research for the top rated places in LA, places for food and entertainment.

My dad used to take us or bring us back food from there regularly. The flavor and satiation are incredible. I've recommended it to multiple people in the LA area in the past.

I randomly read about this, may have been looking for food porn. I can actually recreate tastes and textures from memory and it's somewhat satisfying in the sense that I lose interest after x items like I would with real food, of course the replication isn't near perfect, just a shadow of the real thing, but it's good enough to remember, have the general picture. $1900 dollars, that's pretty sweet. I'm getting tired of living here and prefer to move every few years. It really wouldn't make much of a difference compared to the typical bay area 1 bedroom or studio, I don't need the room, particularly if I store things vertically. In fact, once it's parked long term you could rig up an overhead storage area on the roof.
Hate the thought of driving it all the way here, though, I haven't driven in over 7 years and hated it to begin with. I'd pay someone to drive it all the way to a trailer park or wherever it would be stored long term. A a heavy duty extension cord, or multiple, and a hose would fulfill my meager needs. -

In this situation I would do this or for this reason, so to my simpler mind it seems that this the most likely reason this person is doing this. I can't imagine sex not being a significant factor, not wanting the base act if I was a virgin at 25, and this is the case with the majority of late-age virgins, so I don't think he's being honest with himself.
Think of how basic the base act of sex is. Penis moves in, penis moves out. Have you ever been masturbating or having sex, thinking about having sex and the effort, going through the effort, it takes to obtain it, thought about the immense cumulative effort the majority put into it throughout their lives, how evolution has molded the human mind and human desires and the cascade of effects mate acquisition has on people and their world, how they live their lives, and just thought, "This is really stupid."
