2019-05-10 at 5:01 PM UTCI can never get too euphoric.

2019-05-10 at 5:16 PM UTCI wish I had a good extraction tek for these, some of the important kavalactones aren't water soluble. I may try just soaking them in a bit of 4 loko and then drink that. They're so fickle when it comes to drying and preserving, I end up wasting so many.

Some I got this morning. Strong bluing at the base of some, shitloads of spores. Probably luteofolius.

Nobody I've given them to complained. Slightly bitter or papery tasting, to mildly meaty. Luteus is often more mild, but the more lignin they consume it seems the more like paper they'll taste. So the more rotten the wood is, possibly the more mild they'll taste. I ended up throwing those away except for a few caps for spores. I want to breed a strain of these that's much more potent than normal because they can grow almost anywhere on any kind of wood. Almost impossible to kill with contamination once established on wood. I had an entire wooden porch consumed by G Junonius. It was triple treated with wood protector, too. The mushrooms put out more spores than anything I've ever seen. Everything nearby was rust colored.
So anyway, two of the main deadly lookalikes for these can be distinguished somewhat by the lack of scales (normally) on the deadly ones, and the cap on gyms are usually not viscid when wet. Cortinarius, which has a toxin that may kill you immediately or take over a year, grows out of the earth almost exclusively, while gyms must grow out of wood or earth containing rotten wood.
Galerinas have viscid, smooth caps when wet normally, and are often associated with moss. Never really found gyms with moss, but they can grow in the exact same spots as galerinas. All the gyms I find start out purple and quite scaly and fade to a lighter more yellowish color.
Cap shape is somewhat different between deadly lookalikes and gyms. If you ever try to hunt gyms, be damn sure you know all the ways to distinguish them. Gyms spores are usually brighter in color than Galerinas
I'll probably send some of these to sporeworks. It would be nice to see on their menu again as they've been out of gym spores a long time. -

Mostly just a blissful codeine/mdma feeling with a bit of psychedelic side effects. With gyms it starts to get too euphoric for me, and messes with my eyes pretty bad. Kinda like certain types of meth when you smoke it, blow it out and your eyes start watering with euphoria. The psilocin may be better used by making a slightly warm tea with it. Seems to hit faster that way. For the kava compounds you want to eat the whole thing, or make a tea with oil. The oil layer should contain kavalactones while the water layer would contain tryptamines.
I wanted the trip to mellow out a bit so I started drinking the beer, only needed a few sips. Then took a hit of a joint. Calmed everything down quite a bit, then I finally stood up, and began synchronizing with the way the wind was blowing. Jumping in the direction and swaying with it as if I were a tree. Gyms similar to some sativa strains have this effect where the breeze going over your skin is extra euphoric.
The really strange thing is ( and yes I realize people already think I'm schizo ) the next day I was still able to synchronize with the breeze better than normal. I pointed towards a bush, and every time I did, it would move away from me. Like I was pushing it using the wind somehow.
I think if people just relax in nature enough and meditate on the way the universe interacts with their body, they may learn something. The gyms certainly help in that regard, but so do cubensis. I've come up with a new tek for growing that I will post eventually. Should be extra noob friendly. Austin apparently has a lot of parks, you should hunt gyms.
