    By infracting/banning them if they persist repeated off-topic posting in a topical forum. But the way Lanny has it set up now, you can't get away with that. Lanny currently has a pretty-well-anything-goes policy, so the user could just put up a valid defense based on that.

    Well, sure. But not everybody does. It's a situation which is completely arbitrary, a situation Lanny himself created. Some members will get banned for posting off-topic in the discussion forums, but others won't. It all just depends on how drunk he is at the time, whether he likes you or not, and whether it's a week day or a weekend. There are several other situations which factor into the mess as well.
    The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!
