it actually began in soviet russia during the cold wars.
the russians were vilifying the west for their corrupt moral values, and among the easiest attack vector was pedophillia, as pedophillia was then not only acceptable facet of our society, but was part of the norm of those good ole days.
to counter these attacks, america declared war on pedophillia in a very similar fashion it had declared its war on communism during the nixon days. the difference is the war on communism died down when the wall came down, but the war on pedos, which also died down with the crumbling of the wall was taken over by militant feminist movements.

So are you saying the only reason you are currently against pedophilia is bc of the social implications and not the moral implications?
Does socially acceptable = morally acceptable for you? Do you think that making something socially acceptable eradicates the possible negative outcomes of the actions you once previously deemed unacceptable? -
