That is what the big deal is about

better subject: what's with those Kenyan prostitutes who are immune to AIDS? Are they going to form the vaccination for AIDS? They've cured 2 HIV patients so far, will they someday form the genetic material of humanity?

I'm still trying to figure out how a vaccinated person getting a disease they were vaccinated for means anything other than an ineffective vaccine
But I don't know much about the subject
My parents were early anti-vaxxers, and though I don't really believe the whole "vaccines cause autism" thing I don't think we should be forcing anyone to get them
I was going to get the shots I didn't get as a kid, but meh

I'm not 100% sure but I think it exposes the body to it and let's your body build a defense. Then if you become exposed to it naturally it's not as dangerous as it could have been.
Kind of like a bacteria or virus from Mars could potentially cause extreme damage to millions because we've never been exposed and our immune system wouldn't be able to handle it.

Lots of vaccines don't even work lol

many vaccines are made with industrial waste that would otherwise cost money to dispose of. like mercurys

Mutations mostly, but also people with compromised or unusual immune systems may not create the correct antibodies to fight it in the future. Mutations are why flu shots don't generally last more than a season.
IM vaccines contain a dead disease (the cheap oral ones used in the third world have a weakened, not dead, version, which is risky) so that your immune system can create antibodies to fight it while not being under direct attack.
The point of herd immunity is that if enough people are vaccinated to prevent a disease, it's unable to effectively enter a population and infect people who can't be vaccinated or are immunocompromised. If those people are infected, it not only threatens them but it also risks the disease mutating in such a way that the antibodies of people who were already vaccinated can no longer fight it.

Mutations is right. These microorganisms are incredibly adaptive and versatile in combating our scientific attempts to thwart them. The greatest threat to humanity, in general, has not been large predatory beasts, but super small things, you can't really see.

lol, I got into an argument about this on zoklet I think, years ago. Ended up reading a shitload about the whole argument, from tainted stock causing nerve damage back in the days of the Spanish Flu, to the different kinds of preservatives used, to flawed and often malicious studies often cited by people who claim 'vaccines cause autism' (the Serrano study on rats is a perfect example).

I had to get a whole bunch of booster shots to up my autism level before I could go through with all that research
