I just recently got laid off from my first paid developer job.

I chose to major in psychology in university, so my degree, at least career-wise, is worth about as much as the paper it's printed on.

I did, however, have an extensive portfolio of developer work I've done, both hobby and professional, ON MY FUCKING HARD DRIVE.

Right now I have one and only one focus in my life (recovering that data).

That, and drinking to deal with the stress of it all.

That's exactly it.

Nobody has properly backed up the Totse forums, only the text files.

Even my "backup" is really just a few hundred, maybe even a few thousand, threads that I saved because they had personal significance to me.

I did, however, create an official NiS archive (every single post accounted for).

I'm chasing root beer schnapps with apple cider.

Root beer schnapps is my new thing now. It tastes almost like non-acloholic root beer, but it sure packs a wallop (anywhere from 15% to 21%).

My NiS mirror is as perfect as can be. I'm also implementing a "The Self Taught Man" kinda protocol, though, which gives people an option for privacy.

Some people don't want their usernames being associated with some of the stuff they post on here in perpetuity, so I'm implementing something for that.

When a thing goes wrong for an animal I bet they dont dtart stressing about other trivial shit but then again all they ever have to worry about is eating and living.

Human nature is always human nature whether it wants to be or not, and because you might spiral downward at one point where others dont doeant make your reaction any less or more human nature than the next person I guess.

Human nature kinda sucks cuz it gives you an excuse to do or not do certain things.
