That is not our choice, it's the greedy administrators at the top. I don't think all of those American workers wanted to lose their jobs
I do find it hilarious though that my Honda has more American parts and labor in it than your average Ford or Chevy though
I'd wager that that's the problem with both countries. But until people quit saying "at least we aren't x" or "y is worse" we're just going to keep spiraling toward the gutter -
