I was never really impressed with coke but that night it certainly did the trick, it gave me the respite to follow on through to the end of it.

The only time I've ever pawned something was to buy my first strip of LSD lol

I know a certain someone who once pawned her fridge for money. That was something.

I take it you don't smoke/vape tobacco/nicotine, drink alcohol, drink coffee, or smoke cannabis, then?

My nephew was addicted to heroin, he passed away in 2017 from an bad batch that was laced with Fetynal (sp), he was only 32. He was a junkie. He worked for years to kick it, he was in & out of rehab and would do really good for a while then he'd hit a rough spot in life and get some heroin. He suffered from severe depression for a long time and many of us in the family believe he was bipolar. Anyway, the reason for my post is, I know I've seen a lot of you post about drug use, it's dangerous, be careful who you get your drugs from if your going to use them, more and more are being laced with God knows what

Who's fault is that? If it weren't for prohibition your nephew would still be alive now, waking up in the morning, having a quick hit before having a shower and some brekkie then starting his day going off to his job or business. Then at the end of the day and weekends prolly coming home to spend some family time chilling with you all or going out with some pals. May have even had a wife and kids of his own. I guess prohibition has robbed your family of a hell of a lot.

You assume correctly. I used to smoke cigarettes though, from age 13 through 18. I would smoke two packs a day. I also smoked some cannabis and hashish every once in a while back when I smoked cigarettes, but I have never smoked it after I puked my brains out under a bridge because of a bad trip. I drank alcohol once in a while as well, and I drink coffee from time to time, but it's more milk than coffee, to be honest. I'm religious, mind you, but I did not practice during my teenage years, since I was completely put off by the idea of stepping foot inside a mosque after I had to go nearly everyday during my elementary school days. During my elementary school days, I would get up at 8 A.M., get ready and be at school at 8:30 A.M., until 3 P.M. Afterwards, I would have time until 4 P.M. to arrive at the mosque, for Qur'an lessons; the teacher was an abusive asshole who went on to leave his own wife and kids behind eventually, what a nice, exemplary man, huh? Those classes would last from 4 P.M. until 5:30 P.M., then I'd be home by 6 P.M. and I would have to go to bed at 7:30 P.M. I stopped going to these Qur'an lessons when high school started. You can see why the idea of going to the mosque completely put me off. So I completely distanced myself from Islam during my teenage years, and I did things I shouldn't have, but thank God, I embraced my religious roots before I did something I would absolutely regret and couldn't take back.

So now you're just addicted to mindless inane stupidity. Man, I'll stick with may drugs any day.

I gotta say I admire the dedication.

You're at least not a hypocrite (regarding drugs), and that's pretty respectable.

There's always some thing that junkies do that they don't which separates them.

So what is it to you that makes someone a junkie vs. not?

Junkies don't describe themselves as junkies? Does the fact that I repeatedly refer to myself as a junkie mean I'm not?

My mom will be so happy to hear this.

It's gotta be when you transition from "doing drugs to get high" to "doing drugs not to get sick", right?

Although really, I'd say "junkie" is a set of behaviors tangential to drug addiction that not every addict achieves. When I think of a junkie, it's not even the drugs - it's the lying, stealing, manipulating, sociopathic behavior. A junkie is an addict who becomes a piece of shit. Or maybe junkies are pieces of shit in their final forms, only achievable once they became addicts.

You know those piece of shit junkies that rob old grannies and their own families and shit? They were that way inclined before they got using anything. The need for drugs just gives them reason to be their worst. There are many junkies and users that never do anything like that, in fact the majority don't. Most people only get to hear about the shitheads through media and so think they're all like that. Man I know many users that won't even steal or anything and sit there sick as fuck until they manage to scrape a few coins together through some legal means.
