I have a little waterfall that I'd like to put a waterwheel and generator on, just for fun.
I don't really want to spend any money besides on things like welding rods, but can spare some time to salvage parts, what would could I use? A car alternator or something? I have a fairly good toolshed.

Will you be doing your coils yourself?

I've wanted to do this for years.
I'm not much of a handy man and don't have much experience with DIY engineering, but I also enjoy a challenge.
I'm gonna start looking into where I would start on a project like this.
In the meantime, *subscribed*.
