Not until you told me about it, I live several hundred miles from that park. When I googled it I was an article about a bunch of volunteering to maintain the park during the shutdown. That's pretty cool.

Which unlikely lives and businesses? I'm not saying no one was effected, I'm just saying social order seems pretty darn far from collapsing.

Between 2-3 am, I wake up between 10 and 12, getting a full night's sleep is pretty important to be. I'd say I'm not particularly depressed, like what, are depressed people the only ones who go to bed late? -

Originally posted by Lanny Someone mentioned to me recently that the government was shut down. I still don't really know what that means, and if they hadn't told me I wouldn't even have known it was a thing that was actually happening. Apparently the federal government can shut down and I literally can't tell the difference from when it was operating. Kind of makes me wonder why I bother paying the IRS at all. I guess things just keep on ticking without issue without the federal government. We still murder people over seas, alienate people from the excess value of their labor, I can still hire servants to fetch me food and transport me. Like shit, if our government doesn't do enough to make it noticeable when it's not functioning, and it produces endless corrupt horrible policy when it is running, why bother with it at all?
You're an idiot
All the government shutdown means is that federal employees get a vacation -

I'm not actually trying to defend anarchy/minarchy. I just think it's kind of funny how little my life has changed in the apparent absence of a federal government.
And here I thought you may have actually had some brain cells, oh well. -
2019-02-01 at 11:53 PM UTCIt was only a partial government shutdown.

This is an easy question! Nuclear weapons for everyone. Maybe not the answer you wanted, but it's the only real one. Chemical/biological weapons would probably also work. Every government has legitimacy from a monopoly on violence, the only way to legitimatize it is by introducing some good ol' fashioned TRUST BUSTIN! Personally I'm focusing on necromancy nationalism. -

Leeching off of the corrupt state is a revolutionary action and should be commended. Minimizing one's impact on society by separating oneself from it via self-imposed isolation is extremely moral behvior. Becoming friends with a person puts pressure and obligations on them, so it should be avoided where possible - keep it super casual. The same applies to family. Except mothers, of course, for whom your absence will cause nothing but pain. Miscegenation? More like benificiary of hybrid vigor.
Whereas you support a corrupt system and impose yourself on the world, the humble hikki does not. -

2019-02-16 at 2:55 PM UTCAnarchism is stupid, Americans only think it's a viable alternative because the system has been broken down so much over the years that corporatism has replaced the need for a strong government. The only Americans who believe in strong power of the state are straight up commie socialists like Lanny.
They don't believe there can be balance between the state and the free market because of companies like Starbucks and Walmart treating humans like cheap cattle. If it wasn't for government regulation there would be Walmart brand kidnap vans stealing your children and brainwashing them into door greeters that only care about that next hit of currency.
Centrism is the most superior ideology to an organized society. Proof of this can be seen in the most powerful nation in the world, Canada, which has a mixed market of Crown corporations and private business and is the most successful country in human history and will be seen as a utopia throughout modern history.
