    Having worked LP for many years, I can tell you shoplifting actually pays off, if you already have a criminal record. Most that's going to happen to you is you'll get a promise to appear right from the LP office and end up with a measly fine. Meanwhile, the lifter can scoop thousands, or even millions, of dollars of merch before that happens.
