    Yo, OP, weren't you the one who made a thread about how you're so smart and don't have to work in class and stuff?

    Shit nigga, sucks to be you. Why would you that to yourself? There are other high paying jobs.

    Engineering is a calling malice. You wouldn't understand.

    Malice with all your free time and brains why don't you play the stock markets for us and distribute the money. I wholeheartedly promise on my life that any money you earn me won't go on anything legal.

    ENGINEERING YOU SAY? PHYSICS YOU SAY!? POP QUIZ TIME!!!

    The position of a particle of mass M is given by the following equations:
    X = A+Bt-Ct2 Y = D+Et-Fcos(Gt) Z = H+Fsin(Gt)

    where A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H are all constants.

    a)Find the three components of the acceleration as a function of time.

    b)Are the direction and magnitude of the acceleration independent of time?

    Explain your answer.

    yea, and it was true, in community college. thats why i didnt pussy out and go to a mediocre school though, so i could really learn shit.

    as for sophie..

    umm well currently im on the shitter, but i would take the 2nd derivative of each of those three equations to get each component of the acceleration, because the first derivative represents the rate of change of the position, and the second represents the rate of change in velocity (acceleration).

    it looks like the x equation magnitude would be independent of time because t^2 => 2t => 2
    acceleration magnitude in the y direction is dependent on time because you're never going to get rid of that cos(t) derivative
    same for z.

    since x is not dependent on time, but y and z are, you will have an acceleration in the y and z directions with time, but not x

    Equations nigga' i wanna' see equations. Also as to b) The magnitude stays constant the direction changes, now show how.

    lol why? do you not believe in my ability to take basic derivatives?

    alright ill do it just for fun, lemme brew some coffee real quick because its 6 and i just woke up

    equations for acceleration:

    x = -2C
    y = FG^2(cos(Gt))
    z = -FG^2(sin(Gt))

    Also, the magnitude of the overall acceleration is changing, not constant. I said that the magnitude of one of the components of the acceleration is not varying with time. Those equations pretty much describe how the direction changes, I don't know exactly what it looks like without graphing it, but intuitively it looks like it will probably be some sort of sinusoidal spriraly thing that is speeding up with time in the x direction (the velocity is increasing with time, but the acceleration is not), and those trig functions are what determines it's acceleration in the y and z direction...so yea, some sort of spiral or loop or some shit.
