Back in the day ... about the time we walked five miles to school, through snow and drifts, five feet high, or higher, and carried hot baked potatoes in our pockets to keep put hands warm on the way and them munch down on for lunch.....our school building, also, served as the commumoty church. Fact is, it was the church, and provided the space to hold school.
The graveyard beside the church held the remains of many generations of relatives, neighbors, and friends.
The church/school, built by my great-uncle, is no longer there; having been replaced by a new church which stands nearby.
Though most things have passed away, some things remain.
Stories of long ago still bloom in the minds of those who have heard them: what happened to Wil & John; who shot Canada inside the church during a men's meeting, and why?; why was Jim not buried in the same cemetery as the rest of the family?, was it because he was gay, had a black girlfriend, or fell in love with a girl who was considered his half-sister?
Memories! Life that is soon forgotten and lost if not gifted to others.

It was so very cold that day!
Much of the time I had to leave the sidewalk and walk in the street when the snow was too deep to walk through, over, or around.
My tears were flowing freely, only to freeze on my cheeks as they coursed past my trembling lips.
Why aren't the people driving by upset, too? don't they see my pain? don't they see I am in pain? Will anyone stop and ask me if I need help?
This is America! Why aren't they paying attention?©

Sounds less like literary fiction and more like you making up things to whine about, like a jedi.

That graveyard story reminds me of the jedi Steinbeck's long boring novel The Grapes of Wrath.
He really went to town on the goyim in that book, and since it's all fiction (just like Schindler's List) no one can criticise it.
To Kill a Mockingbird is similar, but much less sophisticated.

See the correlation with the works of King?

I find Stephen King extraordinarily boring and venal.

The unknown 'physician' walked into the patients hospital room. Introduced himself (you don't have to call me Johnson) as being "known as" Dr. Death.
!!!WTF??? Are you serious?
Yes, I've seen so much death I can tell you how much time you have left to live.
(silence)
I say you have about (and, actually, states a time limit), shakes the patients hand and leaves.
...any comments?
