I used to think Flat Earthers were just being satirical and/or trolling

The whole universe might technically be just 2D information that we interpret as 3D. -
2018-12-07 at 1:36 PM UTCTheres no evidence that the earth is round. say you're in an airplane flying to the other side of the world and you're just going straight how else would you get there if it wasnt flat? If its round and you're flying straight wouldnt you just keeping going straight off into space?

Well there is plenty of evidence.
No..in answer to the plane..gravity is constantly acting on it, pulling it down...it maintains it's height by the use of energy..if it lost it's energy it would crash. Kind of like throwing a ball in a straight line, as long as the ball has enough energy to continue in a straight line it will keep going but eventually the gravitational force acting on it is stronger than the energy being expended and so the ball curves to the ground.
A plane follows the curve of the Earth thanks to gravity pulling it down and the energy it's expending to maintain it's height. -

how do you know though? just because bill nye the shill guy told you doesn't make it true. -
2018-12-07 at 1:44 PM UTCSimple answer: people who actually think the Earth is flat are mentally deranged.

I'm willing to bet that there are some right here on NIS, too.
If you truly believe that the earth is, in fact, flat, and not spherical, state your case here.
The Site flatearthsociety PM me (a mod) and told me that it was apart of a class project of math guys .. they could tell I sensed it was a troll. and that their main reason for doing so was to try and create a suedo type formula using honeycomb or beehive like concept to prove the world could be flat ..
I didn't understand the maths in it, I just am good at sensing small things and BS. it since has become money making in their selling products or ad clicks from the high volume of users. there is on that is .org and one .com I don't remember which one I went on. I don't recall the exact conversation just the gist of how it went and something to do with a honeycomb design. the person you met is just a user. they're convincing people. -

2018-12-07 at 2:01 PM UTCThe universe is clearly 2D thats why you can have things like VR which just simulates 3D. 3D is the simulation and illusion of the senses.
-
2018-12-07 at 2:02 PM UTCWell VR simply simulates 3D as we perceive it, if what we perceive is really only 2D then VR is simulating 2D also.

2018-12-07 at 2:03 PM UTCIf the Earth really was flat, that means you could walk in any particular direction and eventually you'd come to a drop off (here there be dragons), not end up back where you started.

2018-12-07 at 2:07 PM UTCThe map of the world is a fiction. Bangkok is within walking distance of Mexico city. No body of water actually separates the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe, in fact you can see Dublin from the peak of the Eiffel tower.
