Actually, Congress has not declared war since WWII. All the "wars" since then have been illegal. -

That's a different kind of rich. That refers to a country as a whole and its economy being pretty healthyThe idea that war brings prosperity is the sort of thing jedi Economists like Paul Krugman push to try to get the Goyim to attack Israel's enemies. War has always concentrated wealth in the hands of the few (Churchill's Blenheim estate comes to mind) but has never brought prosperity to the masses.
This is about private wealth and the super rich and elite.
These are the people pulling the strings. To them money equals power, this is why they make way more than they could ever spend and continue to keep making billions and billions more. It becomes an obsession for these people. These are the people who decide and manipulate the country into a war, not the president, not congress, certainly not the people who foot the bill in money and blood. That shit is just a puppet show to keep the little man satisfied. These people are the people who own and control the media, the news you watch and how its presented to you. They won't mention on the six o'clock news tho that they also run the companies that supply the military with everything from bullets, bombs, food, clothing, computers, even boot laces. That's a hell of a lot of tax payers money going in their pockets when the country is at war. Not nearly so much during peacetime tho. See why were always at war now?
The country at war is literally their own private cash machine.

I don't hate government per se, ideologically I'm a socialist, a statist. I just think that the actions of the US government have been morally inexcusable pretty much since its inception.Just a few points. You're right, it is hard to find presidents that don't start wars. I simply take this to mean most of our presidents have been terrible. If you don’t want to serve our country, no prob. But someone has to do it, so we’re left chosing the lesser of the evils. You think the pres gets a big chunk of money to serve??? Bush made $200,000 a year as pres. That’s chump change to most, hell, you probably make near that.
200k is wayyy above the US median income, and presidents generally don't have to pay living expenses out of that. Plus a lifetime benefit that's about equal to that.
But of course the real potential for wealth is not the salary, but the ability to profit from political decisions and selling favors. It's telling that Bush, a career politician, ended up with an estimated net worth of $50 million with his wife.
But shit, even if it was just the salary. No one is calling me a hero and I collect less money and kill fewer people than Bush did. Why is there a special dignity for being paid for a job when it's the taxpayer dollars supporting you?The fact that you think Hiltler, Stalin, and Genghis Khan were men of integrity, all I can say is WOW.
The fact that you think GHW Bush was a man of integrity, all I can say is WOW.
And really, Genghis Khan really does seem like a dude who had a lot of integrity.

China is getting pretty rich, and they forgot to start a global empire first. Japan is rich, and they fucked up their warmongering. Ditto Germany, Italy and France.
Maybe America is rich because it had a large population of smart and hard working individuals and was good at business.

Our economic engine relies on affordable oil and our warmongering has had a lot to do with securing that for us. Also the astronomical US military budget does generate a lot of jobs, even if that wealth ends up resting in the hands of a few. I agree war does tend to concentrate wealth in a relatively small group but I mean look at the wealth disparity in the US today. -
2018-12-04 at 3:25 AM UTCOil is the engine of the world economy. And right now we have the reserves that allow us to hold the cards. Until oil is replaced with what? We hold the cards on how the world economy operates. Just how it is, and I am glad I live where I do.

oil, as its name implied, is not, i repeat NOT the engine of the world economy.
it is the FUEL, of the global economy and war machineries. -

Steve makes good points, like how the WASP elite intermarried to form loyalty. That explains Jeb marrying the Goblin as well as Barack Obama's Mom bed hopping with various brown elites.
