   if not with racist overtone and you mean the actual species .. yes they are and aren't. they can be real pricks. You make friends with the cute little fuckers and then they hiss at you and just feel they can crawl in your house and attic anytime they feel like crashing in your house. It's almost like they're dirty little hippies you want to adopt.
   
   we used to have these Monster size coons in my hometown.. there was even old folklore about them. I saw one once. It was close to 4 feet in length (maybe 3.5 feet or well over a meter in size) and its because they eat garbage in the sewer systems. or the radioactive contamination from the naval base (as believed- which was apart of the folklore-- but there was an old story from the 1800s someone posted in the newspaper around 1890s of such a story I saw in an old book.

   Raccoons kinda weird me out. My grandma lives by a creek with lots of forest in her backyard. We use to feed the raccoons honey buns & they would walk right up to us & take the honey buns w their tiny little hands. They would come up to back sliding glass door & just look at us with their little hands on the glass. Creeps.

    I've told the coon story before but it's worth repeating again.
    
    I'd not long been in the US and exwife #1 was out in the back yard and shouted to me "Hey quick, there is a coon in the back yard"
    
    I immediately looked for a weapon to thrash this interloping black person with and rushed out only to find a raccoon in the back yard.
