   My garage was built nearly 40 years ago and the shingles on the roof had been the originals. It wasn't leaking yet, but I really don't know if they could have lasted one more winter. Ripped them all off and didn't need to replace any plywood, the original shingles had done their job well. I did add a drip edge above the gutters and laid down brand new tar paper and sand coloured fiberglass shingles. Hardest part was around the heat ventilator and the chimney for the furnace. It's been raining the last few days and no leaks inside the garage!
