Because I had been convincing myself he existed even though it was always blind faith on top of the fear of going to hell if I didn't believe but I had an epiphany and realized I was smarter than that and even if god is real it's probably not the one I believed in and I guess if Christianity is real ill burn in hell forever because that's how that works, but I feel much more confident in my current belief than I ever did with my former one.

There is very little difference between a Christian and an Atheist.
The Christian doesn't believe in 8999 of the historically worshiped gods, the Atheist doesn't believe in all 9000.
(actual figures may vary).

No. It was difficult for a variety of reasons, one because I "believed" my whole life and turning my back on god was a scary thought. Two, I have a lot of christians in my family and having to "come out" I knew they'd be disappointed, but I just reached a breaking point and realized I'd rather be honest with myself and them rather than pretending to be something I'm not.

I believe Q described himself as agnostic

Raised Catholic, guilted all my life; no longer a practicing Catholic. I do believe in a God. Not a God of organized religion, but a higher power, I consider that power my God.
All I can do is have faith in this being, and try to be good to others.

Well you don't have to believe in something to acknowledge that others do, The 9000 number was again as demonstration only...(and as noted in my post that said at the bottom (actual figures may vary)).
The point is religion is about faith, faith in something. An agnostic doesn't have faith that a particular god exists anymore than a atheist does..sure he is open to the possibility but that's not having faith in a god...so in that sense you are similar to an Atheist...Neither of you have faith in any one (or more) god(s).

There are around 4,000 different religions and some of those religions believe in millions of Gods. So obviously none of us have it exactly right.
