He did. However, i actually wrote the login and registration controllers. I think it's been changed a bit and refactored since my original contribution to the forum software.
Passwords have to be stored in order for you to be able to log in. However they get hashed and salted, and stored in the database in that way. Only thing Lanny, or anyone with access to the database can see is that hashed and salted password. There has to be a step in between if we wanted to first grab your plaintext password then pass it on to the DB. You can go over the source code on Github if you wanted to look for shenanigans, or inspect the traffic going between you and NiS when you make a new account or enter your password i suppose. -

words. how do you know, and more importantly how are we able to verify that lanny did not had the hasher and the salter removed and now every passwords are stored raw.
and how do we know lanny couldn't mess with the DB and create posts out of thin air ? if TSTM is possible, im sure the reverse would also be true. -
