The old and new testament are a collection of hot takes by the various authors. Point being, i realize this but i can still find value in it's teachings. However muslims don't look at the Quran in the same way. Also, every religion asks you to believe in magic.
If it tries to run society government style, it's not a religion it's an ideology. I guess my biggest problem with the Quran is muslims. And what the fuck is up with the hadiths anyway?
The new testament is like 100 pages long and is like 8 people telling the same story. For someone so important there's so little and such a ridiculous story. For people to put so much weight on the words of a guy who the only thing anyone can agree on is he lived and died it's pretty silly. Meanwhile the prophet took over the known world and fucked rekt jedis.
He is and will always be the last prophet. It's actually crazy how he knew that all things considered but he definitely will be. Maybe his ego got in the way of some shit and he was pretty cold sometimes (one hadith in particular about a captured woman running around and looking for her child which the prophet uses to describe God's love has always bothered me) but he was based as fuck and sought to create a spiritually based society. He unified the middle East and essentially created a mini industrial enlightenment revolution.
The problem is those who came after him. The prophet died suddenly and although he lived long af for that time everyone thought he was so powerful they didn't expect him to ever die. But he did and he didn't magically rise from the dead because this actually happened.
Muslims are a problem in some ways. Hadiths are interesting but have to be taken in context, same as everything else in a religion. He would be furious if he saw how Muslims revere him now and literally worship his fingers and toenails.
I have had good experiences with Muslims in my life, even ones who just convert because they're in prison and want better food. Muslims to me are a pretty genuine lot who believe in community and fraternity. I'm sure not all are like that and I have issues with many things people do in the name of Islam but thats the same for religion in general.
Muslim scholars are intelligent people (and the Quran literally describes cell division and mitosis) but "Christian scientists" are herp derping slobberers that are basically a joke and try to prove magic is real and dinosaurs are just figments of our imagination -
