   seems unlikely - youpube itself was OK, internal routing was fucked (assuming it was an issue retrieving data from a database given the entire video page, not just the video itself but the comments and the like was failing to load). The general outage you're talking about was backbone DNS going down temporarily so if that was the cause, you wouldn't be able to get to youpube at all - there's no good reason for them to rely on public DNS to be able to connect their website to their own databases.
