It fucking tells you in the info.. it states how it is different from other web crawlers. Some just save a jpg like photo of the page (which was probably safer) and this one would save the page as an html or brower copy. so that you can actually hyperlink to other pages (which sadly it never did grab every page every time, but it didn't matter.. because they would copy it at some point so nearly all pages were at one time there.
This was about robot.txt. is it possible it's a backdoor to remove the pages, so it's not people at archive doing it, but Jeff or one of his techies friends.

No you idiot, robots.txt is a protocol for communicating crawling guidelines to crawling services. If you just typed it into google you could find out what it is: http://www.robotstxt.org/robotstxt.html

Again, this is more of a Question. You're describing the actual robot.txt and it's purpose as a crawl instruction protocol to explain not to waste bandwith by continuous crawl or crawl "low resolution" .. this is an old instructional protocol command.
again, I'm not making absolutes here. I'm questioning is it possible for someone to design one in which it creates a hidden code to the crawler by having the command do its thing and then sneak in a backdoor command to write into the page crawled and saved. there are different kinds of crawls. like google to register a search for people to find a website easier (or who register search on their websites on all search engines) and then there are spider crawl sites that save in archive. archive.org is not the first to archive websites. and there is also the prediction built into search sites to quickly find a suggestive site of specific catalog interest.
OK regardless.. you're going to complicate what I'm saying. I don't care. this has nothing to do with what I researched on totse. it's not "You don't know tech enough and such and such totse pages never existed because you're showing ignorance now"

Some guys came in.. wrote this elaberate fucking thread (and did so with a pretty little background glow to the text) that made it stand out.
it was a pre 9/11 manifesto to attack Washington, The Pentagon in VA and the WTC of NYC.
people had trolled the fuck out of the thread because it seemed very unlikely and totse-trollish but these dudes came back and seemed very serious.
they wouldn't let up on this threat. in congress later on, there was an email going on about this manifesto.. and then there was a manifesto that some prisoner (related or not.. or just inside info) of his own, which wasn't him threatening but trying to cut a deal with the FBI to let him out early parole for the information.. I believe they didn't do anything for him, but the manifesto became public.
this is followed up by Jeff flipping out, these pages go missing. and even some forums shut down on his website. Bad Ideas or Ka Fuck Boom and maybe a few others.
these are clearly removed. But When I reported the 9/11 thing a few years later to some people and started asking Jeff if he really did black list me (as he stated he would.. and he was very specific and repeated himself multiple times on September 11th 2001) to me in his chat box that popped up. this box and also me coming back under another user name when he kicked me off in his PM.
Did Bill Keller ever actually have his attorneys speak to Jeff? so they know who he is?
Anyways (Arron Swartz), this relates because he wrote a few PDF public domain books. Arron Swartz went to MIT or someplace to break into google to retrieve public domain books that google possess but refused to give up freely without paying for bandwith.
so he makes a bunch of accounts.. this violated some agreement or some shit.. and stole bandwith that google claims costed them shitloads of money
the FBI arrested Aarron and his girlfriend. and he was told he could go to Prison for 30 years. He was trying to bring the free public domain books over to archive.org that he help build. he also had something to do with reddit.com
none of this shit is unrelated or "beating a dead horse"

7am or so Pacific time.. buildings 1 and 2 just collapsed and I think the Pentagon was just hit around that time westcoast which was 10am East Coast (or a little before or after)
My wife crying.. telling me to turn on the tv.

Kicking me off that day and then I was allowed back on. then kicked off a second time and I logged back on under an ALT.
