    Yeah, I'm really skeptical of the frenulum argument. Like Enter said, second generation children don't seem to have any trouble with it. Also Japanese contains other alveolar phonemes (like the "n" sound or alveolar nasal) which is the same tongue position. I believe most Chinese languages as well.
